What’s up, this weekend is nice in favor of me, for the reason that this occasion i am reading this fantastic educational article here at my house.
I know many Japanese and other foreign volunteers helped and went with you to the disaster zone. Why is there no photos of them? You should respect them more. They helped people and you a lot. I am sure many of them are sad about this photo page. What is the problem? Was this group hypocritical?
Of course the group wasn’t hypocritical. Showcasing volunteers is not the purpose of this photo collection. This page shows the connection between donors and survivors, which is why all the photos above are of either donors or survivors, with just a few volunteers here and there as a coincidence of being with survivors when the shots were taken. We, the volunteers, made the connection possible.
This site shows many photos of volunteers helping, some of them linked from the volunteer info history. One report, Angels of the Earth, focused on volunteers specifically.
I would like to one day put up a complete list of all donors and volunteers, with profile photos of the volunteers, but haven’t yet. Until that happens, people can see many photos of everybody’s hard work in the trip reports listed at the top right of the Socks for Japan home page.
I see. Then, why don’t you show only donors and survivors on this page. Otherwise it seems like showing off some volunteers’ satisfaction. I don’t really care about volunteers’ profiles. People care about survivors.
People care about the whole project. This page does show only donors and survivors. Your original comment complained of too few volunteer photos on this page, but your second one claims you don’t care about volunteer profiles. I’m not sure what you’re driving at.
