The Economist thinks big tech is finished. Are they right?
At the end of last month, The Economist reported that America’s tech oligopoly is in trouble.
Defined as MAAMA, the oligopoly in question includes Meta, Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple.
Their problems include lower stock prices, slower revenue growth, needing to contend with old-economy problems such as gummed-up supply chains, and a scarcity of top tech talent.
Should tech investors be worried?
No, for several reasons, but the main one appears near the end of the magazine’s report.
