Let Money Guide You

There’s a simple way to decide what to do this weekend, or any weekend. Just ask: “Can I afford it?” Notice, not, “Can I finance it?” or “Do I have enough limit left on my 13 credit cards?” but, rather, “Can I afford it?”

Afford means pay for without borrowing. Afford means never care about interest rates because they don’t apply to you. Afford means buy with the fruits of what you’ve already done rather than tax tomorrow’s labor today.

Life lived within what you’ve already earned is not just simple, it’s liberating. Try it.
